Dutch-German high-tech cooperation in North Rhine-Westphalia

On February 15th, the conference ‘Matching for New Materials, expanding the horizon: Collaboration between the Netherlands and North Rhine-Westphalia’ will take place in Neuss in North Rhine-Westphalia. This conference focuses on the following themes:

  • Materials for lightweight construction
  • Materials for additive manufacturing
  • Materials for the biobased economy

A Single Nanotube - 3D Render

From both the Netherlands and Germany some 200 representatives from companies, research institutions, universities and cluster organizations will be present. Keynotes will be given by Mario van Wingerde from M2i, the Dutch network for innovative materials by Dr. Gunnar Seide of the RWTH university in Aachen.

In addition to the keynotes, there will also be workshops and during the day there will be matchmaking sessions between Dutch and German organizations.

Minister Kamp of Economic Affairs and his counterpart from North Rhine-Westphalia, Minister Schulze will use this conference to sign a declaration of intent. The purpose of this declaration of intent is to further strengthen the cooperation between the Netherlands and NRW through:

  • A joint coordinated approach to science and innovation
  • The facilitation of joint projects, programs and activities
